FASSY’s SERVICES
OUTREACH
- FASSY provides individuals with an FASD outreach and advocacy support specific to the needs of each individual.
- FASSY can assist with issues related to housing, justice, activities of daily living, navigating health and social systems and building support systems.
- FASSY works collaboratively with other members of an individual’s circle of support.
- FASSY is a safe place for individuals with an FASD to develop social support networks.
PREVENTION & EDUCATION
FASSY provides specifically designed trainings and workshops in a variety of areas related to FASD. FASSY will tailor training to meet the needs of your organization or community.
Examples of workshop topics include:
- Basic information on FASD,
- Building circles of support,
- FASD and the justice system,
- Supporting individuals in the workplace.
FASSY is working with the Northern Institute of Social Justice to deliver the following trainings annually:
- Core Competencies for FASD
- Accommodating for the Challenges of FASD: Justice System
- Accommodating for the Challenges of FASD: Health and Social Services
- Accommodating for the Challenges of FASD: Education System
ADULT DIAGNOSTIC
FASSY coordinates adult FASD diagnostic services, on behlaf of the territorial government, Health and Social Services for the Yukon Territory.
A team from outside the Yukon travels to the territory for one week each year to conduct diagnosis.
